Accomplished today
Today I accomplished:

Laundry
Took out cat litter
Dried and ate more fruit
Watched more Ouran Host Club
Filled up trash can (the day after trash day, doh)
Consolidated two geek boxes to one partially-filled box. Got rid of DC adaptors that go to dead items and who-knows-whats, and a lot of outdated stuff.

So, anyone local have extra garbage space this week? :D I want to throw out more stuff.

Who are you and what have you done with the real Todd?

Lol, I thought someone would say that. :D
I think all that dehydrated fruit may have affected me some.

Btw, I ordered a t-shirt to wear to Yaoicon.

Old DC adapters are a goldmine for cheap power supplies for home-made electronics. Adding components of just about a dollar's worth will transform (pardon the pun) a worthless AC-DC wallwart adapter into a solid powersource for (for instance) microcontroller projects.
Perhaps you have an electronics hobbyist in your extended circle of friends who could do something with these?

Well, they're gone now. I will think of such in the future, if I can think of any hobbyists then. I'll bet lots of peole have old DC adaptors lying around...

Most of the stuff I hold onto I can think of a use for, if not several, which is part of why I'm such a pack rat. But I'm at the point where it's hard to find the specific useful things I look for when I need them because I have piles of possibly useful stuff.

Found today, and kept: Several tools, sets of screws, cans of car paint, a cat hair brush for removing hair from clothes and whatnot, and a missing audio book tape that makes a set complete. Now to see what a cassette set of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is going for on Half.com...

I have to admit: that is pretty bad. Perhaps it is time for a "one man's garbage is another man's gold"-network, where you know people who could take potentially useful bits and pieces of your hands, with a good chance they'll actually be used... A distributed thrift shop without the money, so to speak.

Ooh. Interesting idea.

for those with lots of quantities of stuff, it's called the electronics/ham swap meet.

I was at the asvaro swap last weekend and sold about 3/4 of a gold-full of "stuff" out of my garage. It was very rewarding!

for me, the goal is to find stuff new homes, and not throw it away, so I only made a hundred or so.

Feel free to use the dumpsters at my apartment complex. Gate code 2222. Each dumpster area has 2 dumpsters, your rubbish won't be noticed if it's in the harder-to-get-to dumpster.
