Scheduling Fun
So of course I pointed http://あし.com (http://xn--l8jzb.com/ for the hiragana-impaired or I.E. users) to my home page and showed it to people. Then I realised it was pretty out of date about my cars, and the calendar showed events from 2002 and 2003!

I was working on January 2006 and realised:

Anime Los Angeles 2 is January 27-29
Chinese New Year's Eve is January 28

I'm not going to miss Anime L.A. Heck, I told them I'd do panels again. I don't want to skip out on New Year's either. Anyone up for Chinese New Year's in Van Nuys in 2006? Thoughts?

Well, my first new year's party was at a Motel 6 in Pismo, and it was on December 31. Then I skipped a year because I had to babysit computers at work for the horror that was Y2k :) Then there was the whole ice-in-the-parking-lot-call-the-cops incident...
Then I had to work December 31 all night one year, so I started having Chinese New Year's at the Doubletree instead.
So it's a pretty flexible tradition... dating back to the end of 1995 I think.

i'll never think about ice sculptures the same way again....

anyways. another idea to throw around, perhaps a party both places and set up a video feed and IM's and stuff?

Now there you go. The idea came up before when we had the not-at-loscon party... now we'd have plenty of time to plan it... So, who wants to host the North end of the party? :)

it's too far ahead to promise, but i'd like to try :} though someone to help would be nifty

you'll have to do the roamng con cam for me though :}

When I first read this, I thought, a roving video camera feed of the con? Oh wait, never mind, the roving disposable camera. :)

My first read would be an interesting thought, but would take at least a nice laptop, portable camera, and reliable wireless connection. The party at the con will have enough people wandering in and out to make it interesting.

I forsee novelty points in our futures...

Or a stationary 'base station' in the hotel room and a wireless video/audio feed, which is easier to do.......

hmmmm. i'd offer, but i think i prolly wanna go to loscon again... meow :)
it's still a long ways off.
