bagels, not enough sleep

Here I am at Baycon, typing quietly in my hotel room. I've been awake since before 6am, again. I watched an episode of live action "Great Teacher Onizuka" with no sound, and later made a trip to get bagels and cash.

I'll probably need a nap later. The con is good so far. Catching up with friends is nice.

If you're at Baycon, have a hotel room, and have a computer plugged into the hotel LAN (access is free for Baycon this year), and if you like anime and want some digital fansubs, read on. If not, this probably won't interest you much.

Using some form of Windows networking/Samba, connect to, hostname purplepc, userid baycon, password baycon.

If you're using Linux or Mac OS X, you ought to be able to figure it out. If you're using Windows and need help...

1. Find your lmhosts file. It's usually in c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc or c:\windows. Edit the file. Add this line: purplepc #PRE

2. Go to Network Neighborhood, or My Network Places: Computers Near Me. You should find PurplePC. Copy some files.

For those of you who think i'm leaving myself wide open, remember 10.* are local only... you have to reach it through the hotel network.

Enjoy. That is all.
