16/6/09 recovered car
She runs fine, key still starts her. Cheap stereo w/o faceplate was stolen, wonder why. Otherwise full recovery for a few hours of our time and $200.

Not bad -- I'm sure you couldn't get a comparable car for that price. :)

hehe reminds me of the only vehicle I've had broken into. I had probably 3200 watts of speaker, multiple amps, camping gear, skate boards, a one ton jack, cd's, tapes, tools, the faceplate for my new stereo.. it started getting dark when I was half-way through removing the broken stereo so I left it partially hanging out of the slide.. someone smashed the small triangle window on the passenger side and took only the broken radio.. my new neighbor happened to do auto glass for a living, he replaced the window while I was at work and I finished installing my new (working) stereo.. so other than the $100 I paid my neighbor for replacing the window they actually did me a favor. :) dummies actually cut the antennae wire at the stereo side, so they ruined the only remaining function of the stereo haha
(I'm sure if I search back far enough I could find an LJ post ..some of the insignificant details may be inaccurate)

Congratulations on your happy ending!

Gin was hit while we were going down to the Indy 500.. only did some ruffling of a rear fender. Insurance offered either repair or a check.. the check ended up being a hair shy of how much she paid for the car! (shoulda saw her smile after seeing the check, could light the night sky hehe)
